04/12/2010 EGHS Managing Partner Attends National Mentoring Conference
EGHS managing partner E. D. Gaskins, Jr. joined 87 other attorneys, judges and law school deans from 18 states who met in Columbia, S. C., April 8-10 for the Second National Mentoring Conference. The focus of the conference was on building effective and sustainable mentoring programs. Nine states have recently adopted state-wide mentoring programs or are undertaking pilot programs, three of which are mandatory. Mr. Gaskins is currently working with the Wake County Bar Association and Campbell Law School to promote a joint mentoring program for Campbell Law students and new Wake County lawyers. This is a pilot program for the Chief Justice's Commission on Professionalism and is thought to be the first program jointly for and administered by a local bar association and a law school.
