Mike Tadych, also represents businesses and individuals in construction-related disputes. Mike successfully pursued homeowners who refused to pay for significant work on a home they own and who failed to close on the purchase of real property related to the parties' business by obtaining a significant jury verdict on behalf of the general contractor who did the work. Mike construction law representations include: private homeowners in their claims against a builder for misapplication of synthetic stucco; claims against a waterproofing company for its ineffective installation of crawlspace waterproofing; and teaming with former EGHS partner, Paul Ridgeway to help a Florida hauling company collect payments from a Corp of Engineers contractor for clean-up work following Hurricane Fran's devastation of the Research Triangle area. More routinely, Mike represents construction and design subcontractors working to preserve and enforce their lien claims on construction projects to get them paid. Matt Vaughn regularly represents property owners, developers, general contractors and subcontractors in various disputes arising from construction projects. Matt often advises and assists contractors and subcontractors regarding protection of lien rights and securing payment for services and materials provided. Matt has litigated a wide variety of contract disputes in state and Federal courts, ranging from home building an remodeling projects to a highway construction project dispute involving claims exceeding $20 million. Matt also represents owners, builders and developers in disputes arising from insurance company premium audits of workers compensation insurance policies. |
