Ashley Matlock

Ashley Matlock

Ashley Matlock Perkinson, who joined our firm in April 2004, is a versatile and energetic attorney whose outstanding research and analytical skills have enabled her quickly to become a valuable member of our litigation team. Prior to joining EGHS, Ashley worked for almost two years as a litigation associate in the Winston-Salem office of Kilpatrick Stockton, LLP, after which she managed a political campaign.

Ashley’s superb academic background includes membership in Phi Beta Kappa and election to Kappa Tau Alpha, the national journalism honor society. She attended the UNC School of Law on a merit scholarship. In addition to her achievements in the classroom, Ashley acquired a broad array of practical knowledge through her experiences as a White House intern, as the office assistant to the Majority Leader of the North Carolina House of Representatives, and as a summer intern in television newsrooms.

Ashley currently is the Legislative Chair for the Constitutional Rights and Responsibilities section of the North Carolina Bar Association. She is also the Chair of the Government Relations and Public Affairs Committee of the Junior League and Raleigh's Representative A to the State Public Affairs Committee of the North Carolina Junior Leagues. She is also a graduate of the Education Policy Fellowship Program.

Ashley has served as editor of the Wake Bar Flyer for the past two years and will serve as Secretary of the Wake Bar in 2008. For fun she cooks, reads and plays the piano and the clarinet.
